Les adherents du parti Les Republicains sont appeles a voter, samedi et dimanche, pour choisir leur futur president. Mais entre Bruno Retailleau et Laurent Wauquiez, peu de differences ideologiques existent : a l’image de ce qu’est devenu leur parti depuis 2017, tous deux font campagne a droite toute en misant sur les questions d’immigration et de securite.

Apres plusieurs semaines de campagne, difficile de savoir qui de Bruno Retailleau ou Laurent Wauquiez remportera la presidence du parti Les Republicains (LR). Les adherents du parti de droite sont invites a les departager, samedi 17 et dimanche 18 mai, pour choisir celui qui incarnera desormais LR, avec en toile de fond l’election presidentielle de 2027.

Mais comment choisir entre deux candidats presentant si peu de differences de ligne ideologique ? Bruno Retailleau et Laurent Wauquiez placent constamment l’immigration et la securite au centre de leurs discours. Si bien que pour exister face a un candidat-ministre devenu favori et omnipresent dans les medias, l’ancien president de la region Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes s’est senti oblige de jouer la surenchere en proposant, le 8 avril dans le JDNews, "que les etrangers dangereux sous OQTF de quitter le territoire francais] soient enfermes dans un centre de retention a Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, hors de l’Hexagone".

Taylor Swift has been subpoenaed in the case between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Swift – a longtime friend of Lively’s – was first mentioned in connection to the ongoing legal dispute between Lively and her “It Ends with Us” director and costar when text exchanges were revealed to include the name “Taylor” as part of Baldoni’s $400 million defamation countersuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds in January.

One of the text messages included in Baldoni’s suit appears to show an exchange between Baldoni and Lively about the script for the film: “I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. “Women who drank one to three cups of caffeinated coffee per day in their 50s were more likely to reach older age free from major chronic diseases and with good cognitive, physical, and mental health,” said lead study author Dr. Sarah Mahdavi, adjunct professor in the faculty of medicine and department of nutritional sciences at the University of Toronto.

Researchers analyzed dietary data from more than 47,000 women who were part of the Nurses’ Health Study, according to the research released Monday at the annual meeting of the American Society for Nutrition in Orlando. The study was presented as an abstract, but a more in-depth manuscript of the investigation will be submitted for peer review in the coming months, Mahdavi said.
“In this study, we found that moderate caffeinated coffee consumption during midlife was associated with a higher likelihood of healthy aging 30 years later,” Mahdavi said.

It’s not just any caffeinated drink
The effects were found in caffeinated coffee in particular, according to the research. The same link was not found for tea or decaffeinated coffee — and drinking more cola or other caffeinated sodas was tied to a lower chance of healthy aging.

“This would imply that coffee in particular has health preserving or promoting effects,” said Dr. David Kao, Jacqueline Marie Schauble Leaffer Endowed Chair in Women’s Heart Disease and associate professor of medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School in an email. “As with other studies, they also appear to have found that coffee has a particular benefit over other caffeinated drinks.”
That said, the research is high quality, added Kao, who was not involved in the research.

The study is also observational, meaning it is limited in its ability to examine direct cause and effect. The new research can only show that a behavior and an outcome are more likely to occur together.

After decades of sharing stories of life on our planet, he tells viewers that: “The most important place on Earth is not on land but at sea.”

The film — released in cinemas today and available to stream globally on Disney+ and Hulu in June — coincides with Attenborough’s 99th birthday, and describes how the ocean has changed during his lifetime.

“Over the last hundred years, scientists and explorers have revealed remarkable new species, epic migrations and dazzling, complex ecosystems beyond anything I could have imagined as a young man,” he says in a press release. “In this film, we share those wonderful discoveries, uncover why our ocean is in such poor health, and, perhaps most importantly, show how it can be restored to health.”
